Christian Kögel translates the music from Queen’s “Jazz” album, which is rather not Jazz, into an energetic contemporary Berlin Jazz sound – with an electric baritone guitar instead of an electric bass and two tenor saxophones in an archaic, acoustically-oriented guise. The musicians’ second instruments (oud, banjo, dobro, baritone saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet) take up the very different facets of the original music.
