Kosmostage IV

Berlin-based Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra (AMEO) is pleased to invite you to the fourth edition of Kosmostage Festival, here. Whereas previous editions were directed by AMEO ensemble leader Daniel Glatzel, this time a group of orchestra members has taken over artistic direction for 2021, the first-ever digital installment of the event. All performances focus on Swarm Aesthetics, hence this year’s festival motto “Interstellar Waggle Crush”.

Opening with a program that comprises current AMEO-pieces, the musicians soon branch out and reform as three swarm cells: In the festival’s “Cosmic Swarm Laboratory,” the different swarm entities are confronted with an interactive sound installation. Another key section comprises the “Pheromone Poetry” concerts featuring compositions by various ensemble members as well as Czech and Alpine folklore and pieces written by Anthony Braxton and Giacinto Scelsi.

For the final concert, a performance based on compositions by violinist Grégoire Simon that focus on the topic of “Trance,” the three swarm cells eventually reconvene and form the “Interstellar Waggle Swarm”.
