Led by musical pheromones, the path that leads through “Lacerta Cluster” is quite intricate and convoluted: Beginning with a hymn dedicated to our skeleton, it’s followed by a friendship song, the sound of three flutes – one of which copulates with a clarinet – and a noble composition that beguiles the note D. Moving on, it leads past the erotic allure of a saxophone wrestling with the New York School’s enthusiastic lack of intention, to finally culminate in a levitating free jazz quartet.
