The sound of Real Geizt is – while instantly recognizable as hip hop – far more removed from the usual sound of the genre than anything else usually scanning as
experimental or alternative hip hop. It probably compares to other hip
hop like black metal compares to classic heavy metal – not because it
sounds like black metal, but because instead of being aggressive it
evokes a bleak and at the same time meditative atmosphere.
